It’s very easy to make an impressive show while looking for an employer or business associate. What can you tell if the person you are looking for is honest? Psychology Today contributor Dr. Seth Meyers gives some tips on what to look out to determine if someone is honest.
Does this person gives praise to others’ accomplishments even while minimizing their own performance in certain instances? Are they willing to admit to being sorry for those in the lower ranks? Can this individual stop vile behavior like call-to-arms even when they are offended? What are their actions in public? Are they aggressive and behave in a rude way? Do they yell endlessly? Do they apologize when they keep people waiting? Are they willing to volunteer even when it costs money or time? 5. Look for a Highly Resilient Person
The companies of the world are fascinating. They may take unanticipated directions at times they don’t think about it. While retirement planning is important however, you should not employ a second-in-command who has a plan for how to exit the business after you meet the first roadblock. It’s helpful to have someone on hand to stick around even when the going gets tough.
Resilience extends beyond simply hanging onto the rope hoping that it won’t fall off. Resilient individuals are able to be flexible, innovative, and even flourish in the presence of interruptions. Consider, for example, the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses were so infected that they were unable to function and even failed. Some businesses were unable to adjust and went digital. A person who can help you run a business should have the ability to think and fight for its survival.
The McKinsey survey of September 2022 found that inflation was the number primary concern of U.S. consumers, with 65%. Things might improve, however, the person helping manage a business must be prepared for the effects of inflation and its effects on your business. Beware of anyone willing to let go and be a slave to the market.
